A VERY SPECIAL EPISODE OF A FOREST DARK: ALSO, PLACEMENTS
First, an announcement. Please read the whole thing before you look at placements.
Most of you are aware that I've recently moved and undergone a whole bunch of big life changes. For the past few months, I haven't been as engaged with the game as I was previously. I think it's pretty clear that the game has deserved better modding, even though all things considered I think it's still going pretty well. For the last few weeks I've sort of been telling myself that I will get back on the horse soon. Maybe I'll get back on the horse and maybe I won't, but either way, the game needs moderation now, not hypothetically two months from now when I've gotten my shit together.
I've been playing around with the idea for a while now, I know, so this is probabaly not surprising. But anyway, from now on, the majority of mod duties will be carried out by a new team. Please thank Opal, Youji, and Mora for taking on these duties. All three of them have been strongly engaged with the game since the beginning of its run and they are really great friends that I trust to run things around here. I'll still be watching the game and giving input if they ask me for it, but for the most part I take the attitude that the people doing the work are the ones who get to run the show. I will also continue to stick around and play my NPCs and do plot things. I will probably eventually reapp to the game with a PC as well, but that's for the future. For now, Akemi has wandered off into the kudzu. She's probably fine honestly.
So what will change?
That is up to your new mods. Right now, I can say that they have a lot of really great ideas to make the game more engaging. All three of them have a lot of RP experience and I think anything new they decide to introduce will be amazing. I also hope that you guys will all recognize that modding is a ton of work, and also that I was sort of a dick and handed this over to them at kind of the last second, like literally yesterday. If and when they make other changes, I trust you guys to be as awesome to them as you all were to me.
They are also way less lazy than I am, and so things will probably be done in a more timely manner -- although I will say that I have really appreciated that you guys have been so generous with me and I hope you'll extend the same generosity to your new mods. Already they've done a whole bunch of great work cleaning the place up, like literally just last night like ten freaking minutes after I asked them if they wanted the job, for which we all thank them.
I will say what will not change is this: the game will continue to be locked and all posts hidden from the public. It will also continue to have the same content warnings and content rules as before -- that is, you can play whatever fucked up violence or sex garbage you want here. Finally, it will continue to be a private or semi-private game where applicants need to be specifically invited by players within the game, similar to how it is now.
ANYWAY, your new mods will introduce themselves shortly, although you guys basically know them anyway. BUT FOR NOW:
